I am always looking for new ways to drive my creativity.  Social media is a great place to find new ideas and tools to try.  Georgia artist, Debbie Grove, inspired me–even encouraged me–to try palette knife painting.

I am that artist who has a million different kinds of art supplies, whether I use them or not.  I’ve had this palette knife set for a while and finally started playing around with it this past summer.  I wanted to try my hand at Pet Portraits and this seemed to be the perfect way to try palette knives.  After a few dogs, I think I’ve gotten the hang of it.

It’s certainly the loose painting that makes this type-A gal go a little berserk.  Yet, the lack of perfection is what I need to push my work to the next level.  Last week, I tried my hand at the ocean.  I will say, it’s not bad.  This piece is available, Blustery 6″ x 6″ acrylic on canvas.  Contact me for purchase.  $40 + shipping.  Local pick-up available.
