More than a Number

As a proud member of GenX, I’m no stranger to Numerology. Afterall, I read my numerology every month in the back of Elle Magazine. A dear friend and I were just talking about the Numerology in Elle the other day. It was a bonus reading (in addition to your astrology) to see how the month would shake out. At least that’s what I believed. Honestly, why would I think a general reading would be so hyper focused on me and a million others?? Numerology, like Astrology and Human Design needing your birth time, depends on more than your just your life path number.

As I have worked on myself through the years, I have spent more and more time learning about things like astrology and human design. And whether you believe it nor not, it’s sure interesting when things line up. And they line up a lot. Even those non-believers will throw out the proverbial, “well, you know I’m a Virgo. Things have to be just right.” There’s a lot more to it than that, but you get the gist.

Last month, I went to Maryland for a retreat to learn more about psychic development. Before you say…good grief….hear me out. I’ve always been the one that people ask for advice, tell their “situation” to for feedback, or inquire if their business venture seems like something they should do. I have always had a knowing and at 55, I have decided to expand that knowing to help others. While I was there, I met a lovely woman, Jamie, doing numerology. We walked into the crystal shop and I knew immediately that I wanted to have my numerology read. I’d never done that before so I thought this would be a good time to try it out. And just as I sat down and introduced myself, I knew Jamie and I were going to be friends. Has that ever happened to you? You meet someone and just know…this is someone I am supposed to know.

It was a quick reading and when we got down to brass tacks, it was very enlightening. She said, “hmm…did you know you’re a 9 life path and a 9 expression?” Well, no I didn’t. I had no clue what that meant. Turns out life path 9s are quite possibly on their last incarnation on earth OR that they are very advanced in their spiritual evolution.

Well, this piqued my interest — A LOT! I have always felt like I was here to learn and to lead, but I was always confused as to how that needed to happen. When I returned home, I reached out to Jamie for a full numerology reading. We had such a great time! Turns out I have 3 9s in my Core Energy. Core Energy is the energy that makes you, YOU! My life path, expression, and maturity are all 9s. While my heart’s desire and birthday are both 8s.

That’s great, right? But what do those things actually mean? It’s funny because the 8 craves control and the 9 seeks surrender. This is a life of pure balance to ensure the energies don’t get out of whack. Well, at least now it is. I know in my younger years life was WAY out of whack. All part of lessons I needed to learn to advance fully.

For me, learning more about my own personal numerology has helped me to better understand my journey. It’s allowed me to see a bigger picture I wasn’t seeing before. It’s also allowed me to understand that I’m not made up of one number. Just like in astrology, I’m not “just a Pisces.” There are so many other planetary aspects that play into who I am.
