Making a commitment to yourself is probably one of the most important commitments you ever make. Committing to working to open your heart to your creativity can change your life. As a younger woman, I never understood how creating anything was helping me work through the traumas of my heart. Today, I absolutely understand it. I am drawn to things that made me happy from my childhood for inspiration. I find creating helps me let go of things that no longer serve me. Hurts and traumas that I held onto like a martyr. Those things I never realized were making me, for lack of a better word(s), Crazy/Bitchy/Angry.

When we commit to ourselves to grow, we make constant effort to move forward. I made a commitment to myself back in the fall to create every day. It was a big commitment for me. I was worried I couldn’t do it….and sometimes, I miss a day here and there. That’s life, though. And this is where the rubber hits the road. If you miss a day, do you give up or do you pick up where you left off? This is where we MUST have GRACE for ourselves. It’s progress and NOT perfection. Perfection is a myth. Our goal is progress. Small steps to move forward.
