Is it just me or is winter trying to hang on just a little bit long? Freeze warnings over the weekend, but the days are longer now. It’s time for the sunshine and warmer days.

To say I have been busy lately would be an understatement! If I’m not working on continuing education, working my corporate job, sharing energy healing in the Reiki studio, painting and drawing, or traveling, I’m vegging out watching reruns of The Love Boat (really, I am).

My soul is longing for the easy life of my childhood. When being aa kid for me was no responsibility other than keeping myself alive when I wasn’t under parental supervision. I know not everyone had a wonderful childhood. Life is hard. My parents did a really good job of hiding when it was hard. For the most part, though, it was really good and I am grateful for it.

This month, things are no different. Two weekend trips on the agenda already! I am so ready for next weekend’s LONG weekend with some of my oldest friends at the beach. It’s been too long since I’ve been able to see a couple of these wonder women. While our trip is small, we certainly miss those that couldn’t make it with us on this trip. The last we tried this was for Katie’s 40th…..14 years ago. And we still didn’t all make it!

Graduation is COMING!

My University Portraits are a huge hit with the graduates, but also with the fans. I love creating custom designs that give the graduate something unique. If you haven’t checked them out on my ETSY site, head on over now!

Home is Where the Heart Is!

I love assisting my real estate friends with their closing gifts, but these Home Portraits also make wonderful house warming gifts or just a thank you for a wonderful stay in their vacation home. These are also custom made and available on my Etsy Site.

Just this week, with the NCAA Final Four looming over the weekend, I found myself creating a new piece based on an old NC State landmark….Mitch’s Tavern. If you aren’t from NC, but you enjoyed Kevin Costner baseball movies, you may have seen it and not known it….it was the bar in Bull Durham. I just aged myself a bit, I’m sure.

This could be a new venture for me…painting the local hangouts. At least the dives we all enjoyed in our youth. ….slowly drifting back to memories of easier times when all we wanted to do was hang out together, laugh, and have fun!
