So I decided—very much in typical fashion for me with anything I do—that I need a deadline.
Over the last week or so, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone again. I decided it was time to start reaching out to set up art shows. Not all the time and not all at once, but intentionally over the next two years. I work in many different mediums and like to show a little bit of each style in my exhibitions.
A new opportunity is coming up this month at Stock and Grain. I’ve submitted my work for this juried show and can’t wait to see what’s selected and how it all comes together. The theme is High Point, and if you’ve been here a while, you know I’ve been painting High Point for a long time.
I’m also excited to share that I have a show of new work coming to Studio 136 Gallery in June. This one is all about color—more pieces from my candy series, along with some new foodies. I love the bright colors and nostalgia, with a pop‑art flair woven in. Not only will my work be featured there for the month of June, but I’m also working on a couple of Paint With Me nights, where you can come to the studio and paint alongside me as we create a pre‑determined piece together. And don’t forget—June’s Social Saturday includes an Art Crawl with a designated trolley to take you to all the galleries and art spaces in town! I’m truly excited and grateful for the opportunity to show my newest pieces there.
I’ve even gone so far as to schedule a show for 2027 at Nomad. I’m really excited to have time to sit with this one. It’s a great space for showing work, and I can only imagine what I’ll be painting for it—I’m still dreaming and planning what I might want to share.
In the meantime, I’m still working on Home Portraits, new watercolor and acrylic paintings, and, of course, Monday Night Oils Class—all of which keep me busy and happy. Creating is my meditation, and I can’t wait to see how the next piece turns out.
Commissions are open right now, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention upcoming graduations and the University Illustrations I offer—one‑of‑a‑kind gifts for the graduate in your life. You can contact me through the form below or shop my Etsy for details.
As we move toward the end of the astrological year (Pisces), it’s time to start sowing the seeds for spring and summer. This is my favorite time of year to work on creative projects and awaken to new ideas.
What will you work on this spring?
I am now offering my expertise, my experience, my guidance to help others with their own awakening and creativity. So…instead of leaving this at the bottom of my posts as I normally do, I give you ALL the ways to work with me today.
