Learning New Tricks

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Wait…why am I the old dog here? It doesn’t matter. I am embarking (oooo another dog reference) on a new venture. It’s not what you think. I am going to begin recording my daily art creation and sharing it on my Facebook page. That’s SO outside the box for me. I’m a little nervous, but I want to show you my process and quite possibly encourage you to create with me.

If this goes well, I am hoping to start teaching watercolors live. I am a self taught artist. I’m not saying I don’t have some inherited talent, I do. My mother and grandfather have/had respectively, incredible talent. I never thought about painting or drawing until I was in my 20’s. And then, I just bought some art supplies and started creating. Mostly with colored pencils. That’s how almost any artist starts, no matter if they start young or not. Just taking the leap.

Last week, I received my new equipment to begin recording and as soon as I find the sweet spot for where it should be attached to my workspace, I will start posting those daily recordings. I hope you’ll join me. I have a private group set up for these daily prompts–and the reason it’s private is so others can share their work in a safe space. If you ‘d like to join us, please do! You can request to join here.

Hope to see you soon!
